The starting point
An above-ground pool on a flat patch of yard, no deck, no real seating area. The clients wanted somewhere they'd actually hang out - not just a pool to jump in and leave.
Phase one - pool and base
We started with proper base prep and leveling, then installed the above-ground pool. The clean base sets up everything else for the long haul.
Phase two - deck, patio, and fence
A wrap-around deck went up around the pool, with stairs, railings, and pool entry steps. A paver patio off the deck added a real outdoor living area, and a vinyl fence finished the yard.

It depends on scope and weather. Grading, footings, framing and paver work each need their own window, and we sequence them so the yard is not torn open longer than it needs to be.
Can it be done in phases?
Yes. Many homeowners do pool and deck one year, then patio, fencing and lighting the next. We plan the layout up front so phase two does not mean tearing out phase one.
